About us

Our story

KSW Design and Renovation was established when husband and wife team, Estelle and Kelvin Watson encountered a large gap and lack of communication between interior designers and builders.

Not all interior designers or architects have hands-on experience working with tools. On paper and converted in 3D perspective, home renovation designs can look like they’re straight out of a glossy Vogue Living magazine, but it’s not until the blueprints are handed over to a builder that it’s realised some designs aren’t functional. Our job at KSW Design and Renovation is to educate homeowners on the importance of hiring a design company that has building and cabinetry experience. Plans that need to be redesigned hold up the renovation timeline.

We know that with our onsite experience and having worked on some of the Gold Coast’s most exclusive suburbs.

Our experience

For ease and your convenience, we have a fully mobile showroom so your initial consultation and design can take place at your home. This allows us to view the space you want renovated and match the colours on-site so everything is done to your exact specifications. Often natural and artificial light can cause colours to change slightly in appearance, so at least being onsite you’ll get a true to life look and feel for the end result.

We know that investing in a new kitchen or bathroom is a big decision and we want you to feel comfortable and confident throughout the process. That’s why we work with you from the initial design concept to completion, managing all of the different trades who need to come together to ensure your new kitchen or bathroom is installed exactly as it was designed – with minimal effort needed by you once you’ve signed off on the design.

We use Australian made products that are manufactured to the highest quality – you definitely won’t find anything that’s out of shape in one of our kitchens or bathrooms! We use premium quality fittings, manufactured by German companies like Blum, which are built to go the distance.

Our Process

/ ‏‏‎ Initial Consultation

The initial consultation is where the magic begins to happen. Estelle and Kelvin want to streamline your entire process to make your life easier, so they will meet you at your home. This allows us to get a deeper understanding of your lifestyle and how we can create your living spaces to service your daily needs. We’ll discuss the latest kitchen trends and discover the colours and materials you love. We’ll talk about your expectations vs reality, your budget and how we differ from other Gold Coast home design and renovators. Our plans are made to measure to the exact specifications so that you are able to take the design to any builder of your choice or have an architect include it in a new build. After the initial consultation a design proposal will be provided. The cost of design depends on the complexity of the project and the number of rooms.

/ ‏‏‎ Design and

Material selection

If you have decided to continue your kitchen build with KSW, Estelle will begin to create your design as well as decide on the type of materials to be used. We partner with a wide range of trusted suppliers to give you a wide range of benchtops, splashbacks, doors, handles and tapware to select from. Our product knowledge from Smartstone benchtops to stainless steel splashbacks and their effect on the look and feel of your home is extensive. KSW provides you with the option to use their services for the design process only, where at the end of the process, you’ll walk away with a meticulous plan, made-to-measure with a list of materials ready to be passed on to the builder of your choice.

/ ‏‏‎ Quote

This is the stage of the process where you can take your designs if you already have a builder in mind. If not, we will provide you with a quote to carry out your kitchen renovation. All quotes are fully transparent and a schedule of payment dates will be provided.

/ ‏‏‎ ‎Project Management

Manufacturing of your kitchen components takes place and site installation begins. We can coordinate your entire project from concept to completion including organising trusted professionals such as plumbers and electricians

Let’s talk

We put the time and effort in because we love what we do and we know that it’s often hard to visualise the end result just by looking at a sketch.
